These posts do not have a surface-mount flange. Posts are installed into the ground or an appropriate footing. Final installation depth depends on local requirements, frost depth, permafrost, soil conditions and the application.

Chain thickness is primarily a matter of appearance and personal preference. Larger chain provides a heavier visual barrier.

Project Planning
Post Spacing
For commercial installations, posts should generally be spaced no more than approximately 6 feet on center.
Tight curves and radius applications require closer spacing.
Chain Length
Give Boulevard Supply the actual measured linear dimensions of your installation.
We will calculate the additional chain required for the desired sag between posts.
Corners & Openings
Your drawing must show every corner, opening, gap and start/stop location.
Opening widths and their distance from nearby corners or ends are important.

D-Shackle
Used to terminate the chain cleanly at an end post or start/stop location.
Matched to chain thickness. Boulevard Supply calculates the quantity from your layout.
Quick Link
Used where chain sections need to be joined or where a removable connection is desired.
Matched to chain thickness. One is included in the recommended Starter Kit. Additional Quick Links are available for additional access points.
Double-Row Chain
A second row of chain could be added when a fuller decorative barrier or more visible boundary is desired.
Optional. Select Double Chain on the quote request if this is your preferred configuration.
Double-Chain Accessory Kit
Hardware used to attach and support the additional lower row of chain.
Optional and used only for double-chain installations.
Swivel Eye Snap Link
Optional removable connection hardware for applications where convenient chain access may be useful.

Contact your local building department before installation.
Building, property, pool, footing, frost-depth and other local requirements may apply.
Call Before You Dig
Call 811 or the applicable local utility-marking service before digging.
Buried utilities must be located before installation begins.
Identify the Surface
Tell us whether the installation will pass through soil or landscape, asphalt, existing concrete or mixed surfaces.
Frost depth, permafrost and local ground conditions affect required installation depth and footing design. The local building authority should determine applicable requirements.

Your drawing does not need to be professionally prepared or drawn to scale, but the measurements must be accurate and the layout must be clear.
Your drawing must identify:
Measure every straight section.
Show every change in direction.
Show the width of every opening.
Show the distance from each opening to the nearest corner, end or fixed reference point.
Identify locations where you want the chain to open.
Identify soil, asphalt, concrete and transitions between surfaces.
